Jena and Ryan - Wedding Day

Filed under Weddings • Written by Jason Kasumovic on Wednesday, September 8th, 2010, 2:49 pm

No you’re not looking at the Mandalay Bay’s latest wedding promo shot. Meet Jena and Ryan. On Saturday, this Hinton, Alberta couple descended on Las Vegas, Nevada to wed in style in sin city. The weather was as smoking hot as the couple as temperatures reached 42 celcius. A large group of family and friends enjoyed every second of it as the couple breezed through a fabulous wedding day. Here are some of the photos.

Jena spent the morning getting ready at the Mandalay Bay hotel.

Early in the afternoon, dad escorted the bride down the isle at the Palm Foyer.

With a kiss, Jena and Ryan seal their vows.

The wedding party poses for the camera.

Still not quite sure whether they’re leaping for the camera or trying to keep their feet off the scorching pavement.

The girls looked lovely.

The gorgeous bride posed for some portraits.

What Vegas wedding would be complete without some casino fun.

The reception was back at the Palm Foyer and brimmed with party atmosphere.

The dance floor was roaring.

Before the end of the night we hit the outdoors where it had cooled to a chilly 36 celcius for a few more photos.

The girls strut their stuff.

What can I say, Jena and Ryan. Thanks so much for trusting your destination wedding to me. I had a great time spending the day with you two and congratulate you both on your marriage and fantastic wedding day. Cheers!

Leanne and Derek - Wedding Day

Filed under Weddings • Written by Jason Kasumovic on Sunday, August 29th, 2010, 5:38 pm

Last fall I had the pleasure of doing an engagement session with Leanne and Derek. I first met Derek a couple of years ago when he provided a very memorable roast of his brother and groom Ryan during Ryan’s wedding that summer. On Saturday, Leanne and Derek were in the spotlight as they tied the knot in front of family and friends from across the country and beyond. The mood was light and the love was strong as everyone shared in the couple’s special day. Here are a few of the photos.

Leanne and her bridesmaids spent the morning preparing for the day at her home in west Edmonton.

A short time later, Leanne is escorted down the isle by her dad at Beulah Alliance Church.

Leanne and Derek seal the deal with a kiss.

You know a wedding party is fun when they’re lining up to do a pyramid.

The ladies looked lovely.

But weren’t quite strong enough to handle the groom.

The reception was held at the Edmonton Petroleum Club. Shortly after dinner, the news was in - Eskimo’s 17, Saskatchewan 14. While Derek was happy, we won’t discuss Leanne’s largely ‘red’ preference in football teams.

Earlier in the day, Derek wasn’t sure if his brother Ryan would return the searing roast of a couple of years ago. When it was Ryan’s turn to speak, Derek learned that turnabout was fair play. Who’s roast was better? I’m not sure.. but it would definately come down to inches… :)

The couple shared their first dance.

The cake was cut.

And my evening with the couple ended with Derek going garter hunting.

Congratulations on a great weddng, Leanne and Derek, and thank you for allowing me to participate in the big day. Best wishes for a long and happy marriage. Cheers!

Tammy and Vince - Wedding Day

Filed under Weddings • Written by Jason Kasumovic on Monday, August 16th, 2010, 8:43 pm

Saturday was a special wedding for me as the bride was a childhood neighbour and person I spent much of my youth around. You’ve seen Tammy and Vince before on this blog; most recently around their engagement session and during a family session the year before that. Their wedding was big and bold and everyone including myself had a great time. Here are some photos from the day.

The girls were up bright and early getting hair and makeup down at Tammy’s friend (and hairstylist) Leona’s home in North Edmonton. Tammy’s mom Darlene lends a hand with the veil below.

Before leaving for the dresses at Tammy’s home, the talented hairdresser posed with the ladies.

Tammy was escorted down the isle by her mom and sister.

Some laughter right at he start calmed everyone’s nerves when Tammy’s mom opted to hand off the rings -after- the ceremony started.

After 9 years together, a kiss began the marriage.

Formals were up next and took us to parks, pubs, and pyramids. Below, the guys have a little trouble with sexy.

The ladies looked lovely.

The guys audition for a Kokanee commerical.

Vince was a hardened pool coach.

The reception was at the Meridian Hall in east Edmonton. The mood was festive and there were plenty of laughs during the speeches.

The newlyweds share their first dance.

And a little kiss behind the cake.

Uh oh.

Vince took the hairy leg like a man.

And the party started.

Thanks, Tammy and Vince, for making me a part of your big day. It was great to see a long time friend marry the man she loves. Congratulations and best wishes you two. Cheers!

Heather and Anthony - Wedding Day

Filed under Weddings • Written by Jason Kasumovic on Monday, August 9th, 2010, 3:48 pm

It wasn’t all that long ago that I had a bunch of fun doing an engagement session with Heather and Anthony - less than two months, actually. These two were all about laid back laughter and love for each other and that same great disposition carried through to their wedding day on Saturday. Hot weather and a great cast of characters had everyone sharing in their joy as they tied the knot. Here are a few photos from the day.

The ceremony was held at the Sturgeon Alliance Church in Gibbons, Alberta. These three guys were the ushers - no one had any complaints about the seating arrangement.

Escorted by dad, Heather makes her way down the isle to her waiting groom.

The marriage began with a kiss.

The lunch style reception was held in the church moments after the ceremony. The new husband and wife team were full of smiles as they made their entrance.

Some guests took the mic to remind Anthony about the handlebars he used to sport (that he coincedentally shaved off soon after meeting Heather).

Tony didn’t find it quite as funny as the rest of the room.

When the glasses starting tinking, the couple engaged in a rather conservative kiss.

Fortuntely, an usher was nearby to ensure the crowd got what they wanted.

Lots of laughs during a candid and humorous set of speeches.

The cake shivered a little as this custom made blade approached.

We headed off to the couple’s nearby acreage for some formals.

The ladies looked lovely.

Though similiar, this shot didn’t have quite the same punch.

The beautiful bride posed for some portraits.

A curious guest attended the formals.

Thanks for making me a part of the big day, Heather and Anthony. Like everyone else, I had a ton of fun. Best wishes for a great future together. Cheers!
