Remember Jenny and Rob? If you click the link to the May archives on the left you’ll find these two cool cats in a fun filled engagement shoot. On Saturday, their big day finally arrived. The weather was extraordinarily hot but it didn’t impede the fun.

Happy parents escort a happy bride down the isle at St. Luke’s Anglican Church.

Jenny and Rob listen attentively.

The vows are exchanged.

And the marriage begins!

Next stop was the UofA campus Art’s building for some formal shooting. Here, led by Jenny, the wedding party smiles for the camera.

The cool looking gals show off their flowers.

The lovely bride poses for a portrait.

The newlyweds share a moment together.

And a kiss.

We were then off to Snow Valley ski lodge for the reception. Below is a ring shot on two decorative likenesses of the bride and groom.

Once dinner and speeches were over, the cake was cut.

Rob and Jenny share their first dance.

Before the end of the night, the bride and groom accompanied me outside for a few night photos.

The couple enjoys a relaxed kiss away from the crowd.

Thanks so much for including me on your special day, Rob and Jenny. Your wedding day was lots of fun and I enjoyed myself immensely. I wish you all the best in the future. Cheers!

E-session - Gina and Richard

This evening marked the engagement shoot of Gina and Richard. I had a great time photographing these two - they were super laid back and a lot of fun. We spent some time at both the Royal Museum and Legislature. Be watching for them on the blog again soon as their wedding is only a couple short months away.

Richard began the shoot by taking a break.

A shadowy kiss.

The two share some fun time in the grass.

A tree and a moment in late evening rays.

Richard practices for an upcoming high jump competition.

Gina and Richard enjoy each other’s smile at the Legislature.

I just couldn’t keep them out of the wading pool!

Thanks for a super fun shoot, you two. I look forward to your wedding in September. :) Cheers!

On Sunday evening, I had the pleasure of doing a portrait shoot with Nikki. Here’s a few of the images from the evening.

New Blog!

I’m pleased today to announce that I’ve finally moved off of ‘Blogger’ and attained software that can be hosted with my site (Wordpress).  This new blogging software provides me with plenty of additional options and flexibility.  Over time it will result in a more interactive and visually interesting blog.

Fortunately, I was able to import all of my prior posts from the blogger blog.  I’m now in the process of categorizing them and fixing minor glitches with the import.

 Cheers!

Chelsea and Chad - July 21, 2007

Meet Chelsea and Chad. Just under a year ago, I ventured to the beautiful country home of Chelsea’s parents to do an engagement shoot with this young couple. Yesterday, these two tied the knot in front of celebratory family and friends at the same locale.

Before the ceremony, Chelsea’s mom Louise lends a hand with the long laces of the dress.

And the earrings.

The veil was worn by Louise on her own wedding day. Emotions were running high as mom helped Chelsea put it on.

Chelsea is escorted to the ceremony site behind the home by mom and dad.

Bright sunshine, warm weather, and a lovely yard made for a great ceremony.

Chelsea and Chad exchange their vows.

The marriage begins with a kiss.

After doing some groups shots, we headed to the Muttart Conservatory and Irene Parlby park for some more formals and fun stuff. The bride, groom, and wedding party pose for a photo in the grass.

A bridal portrait of the lovely Chelsea.

Besides making a great team on Chelsea’s wedding day, this group of pretty ladies were good at stopping traffic.

Chelsea and Chad look up and smile.

In just a few short months, Chelsea and Chad will be a mom and dad. With that in mind, we did a few maternity style shots along with the wedding formals.

The reception was held at the East Whitecroft Hall near Sherwood Park. Chelsea and Chad did a lot of kissing. Like many modern weddings, getting the bride and groom to kiss involves more than just tinking the glasses. The newlyweds plan was to make guests sing a love song if they wanted to see a kiss. Little did they realize, the reception hall was full of singers.

Chelsea and Chad react with a smile to one of many great speeches from the evening.

It was tough to find a dry eye in the crowd after Chelsea’s parents gave their speech. This group hug took place immediately after.

Cake (or in this case, cupcake) cuttings can occasionally be messy business. The look on Chelsea’s face should’ve been all the warning Chad needed.

Oops!

The couple shared a very happy first dance shortly after.

Which was followed by a touching father and daughter dance.

Thank you so much, Chelsea and Chad, for making me a part of your big day. After hearing your loving words for each other at the reception, I have no doubt in my mind that you two are perfect together. Best wishes now and in the near future when the newest addition to your family arrives. :) Cheers!
