Meet Jacquie and Dave. With their wedding coming up in February, we took advantage of the summer like weather this evening (finally!) and did an engagement shoot at Astotin Lake. The temperature was hot, the sky was clear, and these two rocked the camera.

Dave share’s a smile with Jacquie as he relaxes on her lap.

Big jump! Though it almost looks like they’re dancing on the water…. :)

These two got very touchy feely when the sun began setting.

Jacquie and Dave enjoy the sunset from the beach.

A silhouette kiss.

The couple shares a moment at last light.

A final shot on the beach before heading home.

It was such a pleasure doing this session, Jacquie and Dave. You two are so incredibly comfortable with each other that it was hard to grab a bad shot of you. Thanks for the fun tonight - I look forward to your wedding. Cheers!

Tam-Lynn and Jon - Wedding Day

Meet Tam-Lynn and Jon. This isn’t the first time they’ve appeared on my blog - back in February, this brave couple endured temperatures of -20 to do some engagement photos in Elk Island Park. On Saturday, after overcoming some nerve wracking adversity in the days leading up to the wedding when it came to finding an officiant, these two tied the knot in fantastic style.

The day began first in the morning at Lavish Hair Salon in north Edmonton.

Soon after, the ladies quickly retreated to Tam-Lynn’s mother’s house for makeup and dresses. Below, Tam-Lynn shares a smile with her close friend and maid of honour as the lacing begins.

The soon to be bride reflects in a full length mirror in the bedroom.

With the preparations complete, these gorgeous ladies pose for a picture before leaving for the ceremony.

The ceremony took place at Hasting’s Lake Gardens - located about 20 minutes east of Sherwood Park. The place is actually a greenhouse but the owner has converted her beautiful yard into a flourishing landscape worthy of any wedding. Here, Tam-Lynn walks the isle with her father.

The skies looked threatening for much of the day but some spots of blue showed themselves as the ceremony began.

Emotional vows are exchanged by the bride and groom.

And the marriage begins.

Big smiles from an energetic wedding party.

The newlyweds share a moment on the stairs they were married on.

Running water and happy chatter.

Tam-Lynn and Jon share a passionate kiss.

The beautiful bride smiles for a portrait.

The reception was held at the Country Lodge on the north tip of Edmonton. Below, the newlyweds engage in a monstrous kiss. Intead of glass-tinking, these two gave guests some options in eliciting a kiss. They could either answer a trivia question about the couple or donate to cancer research via a jar at the head table. By night’s end, the jar was full and the couple did a ton of kissing.

Big smiles are seen as the cake was cut.

Followed soon after by a loving first dance.

The skies cleared even further towards the evening so we took a quick photo break during the reception.

The newlyweds enjoyed some time outside.

The wedding party walks into the sunset, arm in arm.

Tam-Lynn and Jon, after what you two had gone through getting here, it was fitting that your wedding went off with a hitch. Thank you very much for making me a part of it - I had an absolute great time. You two are great people and make a perfect couple. Best wishes now and in the future. Cheers!

Engagement Session - Amanda and Gary

Meet Amanda and Gary. With their wedding coming up in early October, we embarked on an engagement shoot tonight in and around central Edmonton. Actually, it might be more accurate to call it a family portrait session as their kids joined in on the fun.

Here’s the whole clan - 6 month old Dillon and 5 year old Morgan smile for the camera along with Amanda and Gary at the Royal Museum.

Little Dillon sports a big smile as he hoists himself up in the grass.

Amanda and Gary laugh as a kiss erupts.

The couple shares a quiet moment.

Morgan has a little fun while posing.

A loving moment in black and white.

Amanda and Gary share a kiss among the flower gardens.

We finished the shoot at Edmonton’s City Hall. Here, the quartet poses in front of the clock tower.

Amanda and Gary enjoy a view of Sir Winston Churchill square as the light begins to fade.

You’ve got a great family, Amanda and Gary. Thanks for the fun shoot and we’ll see you at your wedding in a few short weeks. Cheers!

Keirsty and Keith - Wedding Day

Meet Keirsty and Keith. On Saturday, these two tied the knot amongst family and friends at MacDougall Church in downtown Edmonton. It was bound to happen sooner or later, but Edmonton finally experience a very wet Saturday this summer. It didn’t stop these two from having a great wedding, however.

The day began with Keirsty’s father escorting her down the isle.

Heartfelt vows are exchanged.

And the couple becomes husband and wife with a kiss.

After the ceremony, we discussed a few possibilities for dealing with the weather. Because the rain was reasonably light, we opted to shoot some formals outside at Irene Parlby Park in the river valley. While the wedding party was taking cover under trees, the bride and groom didn’t seem to mind taking cover under an umbrella.

Below, a sepia toned and texture enhanced photo of Keirsty and Keith strolling through the park.

The newlyweds share a moment beneath the cover or a large poplar.

The wedding party braves the rain and struts their stuff.

The reception was held at the Bonnie Doon Community Hall. Below, the bride and groom play a version of the ’shoe game’ at their head table. This particular flavor involved blindfolds instead of shoes but was just as much fun.

The entire wedding party was present for the cake cutting.

A great first dance ends with a kiss.

Two younger guests join in on the fun on the dance floor.

Before the night was over, we snuck outside in the drizzle for a few lamp light shots.

Thanks for making me a part of your day, Keirsty and Keith. Enjoy your honeymoon and we’ll see you when you return. Cheers!

Family Shoot - Kelly, Jackie, Connor, and Madison

Filed under Portraits • Written by Jason Kasumovic on Friday, August 17th, 2007, 3:50 pm

Meet Kelly, Jackie, Connor, and Madison. Earlier today I had the pleasure of doing a family portrait shoot with this quarter at the Alberta Legislauture. Sunny weather and some cheerful family fun combined for a great shoot.

At just under 2 years old, Madison engaged in a piggyback race with her brother Connor who’s 5.

Madison and Jackie share some laughter while smelling some flowers.

Kelly prepares to get run over.

Connor goes for a ride.

Madison offers up a smile while perched on dad’s back.

“What’s that silly guy doing laying on the ground?”

The junior members of the family enjoy a run through the grass.

Thanks for the great shoot, gang!
