Engagement Session - Cherie and Ryan

Meet Cherie and Ryan. This friendly couple and I headed to Astotin Lake in Elk Island Park this evening for an engagement session. A very pleasant fall evening awaited us and, with the help of this eager and friendly duo, the shoot was both productive and fun.

Cherie and Ryan spend a little time warming up.

A kiss on the boardwalk.

The couple is all smiles on the shores of the lake.

A selenium toned kiss.

Cherie and Ryan share an embrace.

A warm kiss with a warm autumn backdrop.

Cherie and Ryan pose near another visitor to the lake. :)

The couple enjoys the sunset in each other’s arms.

A final kiss as the sun disappears.

You two were alot of fun, Cherie and Ryan - even if Cherie did give me a hard time about taking a scenic route back to the vehicles. ;) I look forward to your wedding next summer! Cheers!

Trash the Dress Session - Sheena

You all remember Sheena. That is if you viewed images from her fantastic wedding a few weeks back. This morning, she dawned her gorgeous gown yet again for a trash the dress shoot with me in Jasper National Park. The skies looked dreary a dawn but the sun burned its way through spilling beautiful light on the landscape. Now don’t let the sunshine fool you, the temperature was a crisp -1. But Sheena braved the cold (with the help of a few ‘run to the vehicle and warm up’ breaks) and came out looking great.

Here are some images from the morning.

Thanks for the wild shoot, Sheena. You managed to look great while fighting off hypothermia - that’s no easy task. However, let me reiterate that taking photos with a cold, wet butt isn’t a walk in the park either. ;) Cheers!

Engagement Session - Paul and Mary

Just a few short weeks ago, Paul and Mary participated in a special Christian Coptic Orthodox engagement ceremony at Mary’s family home. This evening, the couple joined me for a traditional PhotoAlberta.ca engagement shoot in and around downtown Edmonton. The weather was great and shooting this couple made for a good time - we felt a certain kinship after sharing our recent, similar experiences with couriers that left us less than satisfied. :)

Paul and Mary smile as they chat it up on a bed of autumn leaves.

The couple share a gaze under a canopy of leaves.

An intimate embrace.

Paul gives Mary a suspicious smile.

The couple basks in the fall evening sunlight.

Warm smiles as Paul relaxes in the comfort of his fiance.

Say cheese!

A warm embrace as the evening light fades.

It was great working with you two again, Paul and Mary. I suspect by the time your wedding rolls around next year, we’ll have plenty more courier stories to bond with. ;) Cheers!

Engagement Session - Allise and Michael

Meet Allise and Michael. Next summer, this happy young couple will be getting married right here in Edmonton.

After watching the cloudy, windy, and cool conditions dominate most of Sunday, I was worried that my scheduled shoot with these two would become an excercise in teeth chattering (I didn’t expect they’d bring their parkas!). But just a few minutes into the shoot the skies parted, the wind settled, and a warm sun breathed some light onto the fall landscape.

Michael and Allise eye each other up while enjoy some sun at the Royal Museum.

A warm embrace with a distinctly autumn background.

The couple shares a intimate moment.

Michael and Allise enjoy the scenic river valley in each other’s embrace.

The couple takes a little walk on the banks of the river valley.

And enjoy a passionate kiss at sunset.

Before sharing a warm embrace at last light.

Allise and Michael, despite my suspician that you bribed the weather gods, it was mighty impressive how quickly the weather changed last night. :) Thanks much for the great shoot. I look forward to your big day in 2008. Cheers!

Family Session - Tammy, Vince, and Kayla

Filed under Portraits • Written by Jason Kasumovic on Monday, September 24th, 2007, 2:15 pm

Meet Vince, Tammy, and Kayla. Tammy is a friend of mine from way back - as children, we were next door neighbours and spent plenty of time together as our parents traded off babysitting duty. For several years Tammy and Vince have been an item and, on Sunday morning, I joined up with them and Vince’s daughter Kayla for some family photos. Our original plan was to shoot outside but the cold and windy weather on Sunday morning motivated us to do much of our shooting at Edmonton City Centre with a few minutes at the Royal Museum near the end.

Here’s a few photos from the shoot.

It was great seeing you again, Tammy - thanks for the fun shoot. And thanks to Vince and Kayla for keeping Tammy in line. ;) Cheers!
