Engagement Session - Sheryl and Sang

Meet Sheryl and Sang. On Sunday, this young couple who’ll be married next summer accompanied me to Astotin Lake in Elk Island Park for an evening engagement session. While the landscape has begun its winter transformation at this time of year, the lake itself still remains free of ice and, with the help of Sheryl and Sang, we had a managed a great shoot.

Sang gives Sheryl an assertive push on the swings.

The couple shares a laugh while relaxed.

A passionate kiss on Astotin’s boardwalk.

A loving stare on the lake’s shore.

With the sun threatening to burn through the clouds, the couple forms a romantic silhouette.

A warm embrace.

Followed by a stroll on the water’s edge.

Sheryl and Sang share a final moment together at last light.

Thanks for the fun shoot, Sheryl and Sang. You two are obviously deeply in love and it shows in your photos. Onward to the big day next summer! Cheers!

Amanda and Gary - Wedding Day

A little earlier this summer, I had a great time spending an evening doing a family and engagement shoot with Amanda, Gary, and their two children Morgan and Dillon. Their big day arrived yesterday with Gary and Amanda tieing the knot under beautiful October weather.

For the ladies, the day started bright and early at Pure Elements hair design in Sherwood Park.

Amanda’s friend Treena provided the home venue for makeup and dressing.

Amanda’s team of bridesmaids go to work helping the bride into her dress.

The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Sherwood Park. Below, the bride makes her entrance surrounded by mom and dad.

The ceremony begins.

The bride and groom share some loving laughs as vows are exchanged.

And the first kiss makes the couple husband and wife.

Despite it being mid October, we found a taste of fall colour at Irene Parlby Park for some of the formals. Here, Amanda and her daughter Morgan pose for a portrait amongst fallen leaves.

The newlyweds share a passionate kiss.

We hit a location along Stratearn Drive with a wide view of Edmonton’s skyline next. Here, Amanda and her lovely bridesmaids smile for the camera.

The wedding party cheers on a big kiss.

Amanda and Gary share a hillside walk.

The beautiful bride poses for a portrait in late day light.

Amanda and Gary’s rings shot atop a table at the reception venue - Millwood’s Golf Course.

Instead of glass tinkling, guests had to make a donation to cancer research and ring a bell to see the bride and groom kiss. The charity made out very well on the night as the newlyweds spent plenty of time with their lips locked.

The speeches were shot but emotional invoking plenty of laughter and happy tears.

A beautiful cake was later cut.

Followed by a first dance adorned with smiles.

And a final kiss at sunset.

You two managed a fantastic wedding day, Amanda and Gary. Thank you so much for making me a part of it - it was a pleasure. Congratulations and best wishes for the future. Cheers!

Engagement Session - Diane and Morgan

Meet Diane and Morgan. Earlier this evening I had the pleasure of doing an engagement shoot with this young couple who’re set to be married next summer. The weather was cooperative except for a 10 minute hail storm at the start of our shoot - I’m pretty sure this was the first time I’ve witnessed thunder and lightning in October. Aftrer that, the skies and temperature stayed pleasant as we did some shooting along the maples on 137th avenue and Irene Parlby Park.

Diane and Morgan eye each other up on a bed of fallen leaves.

The couple takes a stroll along the treeline.

Hanging out in the sunshine.

Big smiles as the couple rubs heads.

It was only a matter of time before a leaf fight broke out.

A warm kiss as the sun falls low on the horizon.

A warm embrace at Irene Parlby Park.

Diane and Morgan share a final kiss as the light fades.

Thanks for the fun shoot, you two. Sorry about the hail - Environment Canada must’ve been asleep at the wheel. ;) Until your wedding next summer … cheers!
