Britney and Gregg - Wedding Day

Last summer, Britney and Gregg of Slave Lake, Alberta made the drive down to Edmonton for an engagement shoot. Almost a year later, the big day arrived for this couple and this time it was my turn to head up to Slave Lake. Britney and Gregg have been an item since high school and exchanged their vows with confidence and love in front of loads of family and friends. The weather was great and the day turned into a fantastic celebration - here are some of the photos.

The day started at a suite in the Sawridge Hotel in Slave Lake, Alberta. Britney had gifts for her bridesmaids arranged on the bed.

Mom arrives and is greeted by Britney with a hug.

A tradition on the bride’s family side is for mom to present her daughter with one of her bronzed baby shoes on her wedding day.

Britney reacts to realizing she is minutes away from her ceremony.

The ceremony and reception were both held at the Sawridge. Below, the bride makes her entrace with dad.

The marriage begins with a kiss.

We were quickly off to the shores of Slave Lake for some formals. The newlyweds get the session started with some smooching.

The day’s lovely ladies put on their best camera poses.

Britney and Gregg share a moment amongst wild daisies.

The beautiful bride poses for a portrait.

Back at the Sawridge the speeches were made. Both the family speeches and open mic ones elicited lots of laughs as entertaining memories were shared.

Britney puts some effort into cutting the cake.

The couple shares their first dance.

And Britney dances with dad.

Gregg is victimized while going for the garter hunt.

After recovering from his hairy leg experience, he was able to complete the tradition.

Thank you for making me a part of a fantastic wedding, Britney and Gregg. You two make a great couple and it was reflected throughout the day. Best wishes in the future and have an awesome honeymoon! Cheers!

Meet Heather and Ryan. Last Saturday this couple tied the knot at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton. Heather and Ryan are a super nice and laid back couple that enjoyed a happy and relaxed wedding. Everyone had a good time and their was plenty of laughter to go around for everyone. Here are some of the photos.

The ladies got ready for the day at Heather’s parent’s home in central west Edmonton.

The wedding was held at the Citadel Theatre soon after. Heather and her father make their entrance.

After taking a few family photos at the Citadel, we were off to the Royal Museum for some formals. Below, the wedding party cheers on the newlyweds.

The beautiful bride smiles for a portrait.

Sutton Place Hotel was the next stop for the couple`s reception. The speeches were fun and light hearted leaving the room with big smiles. The groom`s brother in particular could be a comedian as his speech has everyone laughing.

Before the end of the evening, we went outside for a few more shots.

Congratulations Heather and Ryan and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your big day. You two have make a great couple and are destined for a long and happy marriage. Have a great honeymoon! Cheers!

Meet Amanda and Kyle (and two more family members of the chihuahua variety). In under two months, Amanda and Kyle will be exchanging their vows in a mid summer wedding. This fun and laid back couple love the outdoors so an engagement shoot at Elk Island Park was their preference. On Friday we hit Astotin lake - below are some of the photos.

Thanks for a fun shoot, Amanda and Kyle - I’m looking forward to your big day! Cheers!

Meet Carolyn. If you follow this blog, this lovely lady might seem familiar to you. Just two weeks ago, she was the maid of honour at her sister Diane’s wedding. Carolyn lives in Vancouver and will be returning home tomorrow. This evening, however, we dodged some thunderstorms and got out for a portrait session. The skies were grey for the most part but that didn’t stop Carolyn from lighting up the camera - here are some of the photos.

Thanks for a great shoot, Carolyn. Best of luck with your pursuits back home in Vancouver. :) Cheers!

Meet Bethany and Matt. This super easy going couple are due to be married in early August this summer. Tonight we ventured out to the Alberta Provincial Legislature for some engagement photos. These two were a ton of fun to work with - there was rarely a time when someone wasn’t laughing or giggling. Great weather and a great couple make for great shoots - here are some of the photos.

I have to admit to being a little scared at what I saw through my viewfinder on this one. ;)

Many of the flowers at the legislature are in full bloom or very close. I made use of a few as Bethany and Matt were lost in each other in the background.

Bethany and Matt - tonight was a slice! Thanks for a great shoot - I’m looking forward to your wedding! Cheers!
