Ewelina and Brad - Wedding Day

It was only earlier this summer that Ewelina and Brad joined me at Elk Island Park for an engagement shoot that featured Ewelina running from a curious bison. On Saturday, the big day finally arrived and it was a grand one from start to finish - here are some of the photos.

The day began at Ewelina’s parent’s home in North Edmonton. You know the marriage has a ton of potential when the bride has not one but two Edmonton Oiler garters ready for later.

The bride gets a little help with the dress from her maid of honour and sister.

A short while later, the ceremony began at St. Joachim’s Church in downtown Edmonton. Mom and dad escort Ewelina down the isle.

And Brad is there to receive her.

The church was amazing.

The vows are exchanged.

And a kiss seals the deal.

After the receiving line, we took a few shots on the stairs of the church.

The best jumper of the wedding party award goes to the bridesmaid third from the left. Artistic and energetic - well done!

It was definately a great looking wedding party … though the groomsman on the far right looks like he might be peaking down a dress.

The lovely ladies of the day smile for the camera.

We headed downtown for a few more photos.

I asked Brad to give Ewelina a serious and sexy look - this was Ewelina’s reaction (not sure how captivating the look was).

Ewelina and Brad had a -very- special guest from out of town in for their wedding. Gene Simmons from Kiss! Alright - he was actually in Edmonton for the Indy but happened to be entering the Hotel MacDonald at the same time we arrived. He was kind enough to pose for a quick shot with the grinning bride and groom. Thanks Gene!

The bride and groom share a moment on a piano just outside their reception hall at the Hotel Mac.

The speeches were short and heartfelt keeping the head table smiling and laughing.

The newlyweds responded to many bouts of glass tinkling.

Ewelina and Brad shared their first dance.

And cut the cake before getting the party started.

Once the sun set, we took a few minutes for some night shots.

What a great wedding, Ewelina and Brad! Thank you so much for making me a part of it - I truly enjoyed the day. Enjoy your month-long honeymoon. :) Cheers!

Meet Carla and Jim. With their wedding coming up in September this year, this couple joined me on Thursday evening at Woodbridge Farms park in Sherwood Park for an engagement shoot. Carla and Jim were all about the fun and laughter making for an entertaining evening. Here are some of the photos.

Thanks for a good time and a great shoot, Carla and James. The countdown is on to your wedding and I’m looking very much forward to it. :) Cheers!

Jen and Sheldon - Engagement Session

Meet Jen and Sheldon. This young and fun loving couple will be tieing the knot in early September this summer. Jen expressed an appreciation for a more urban feel to photos so we hit the streets of downtown Edmonton last night for an engagement shoot before finishing up at the Muttart Conservatory when a great sky appeared before sunset. This couple absolutely lit up the camera - it was hard to take a photo where they’d didn’t look great. Here are some images from the evening.

Thanks for a great shoot, Jen and Sheldon. I haven’t done any urbanesque engagement shooting for awhile and this was a refreshing change that you two made alot of fun (and didn’t even complain when I asked you two sit on the rather wet Muttart roof). :) I look forward to your big day - cheers!

Meet April and Corey. With their wedding coming in early November this year, this fun and easy going couple joined me for an engagement session on Sunday evening. As they hail from Devon, we had the shoot in the beautiful river valley bordering the town. The weather was hot and the sun bright - here are some photos from the evening.

April and Corey - you guys are super down to earth and easy to work with. Thanks for a fun shoot - I’m looking forward to your big day. Cheers!

Amanda and Chris - Wedding Day

Meet Amanda and Chris. On Saturday, this young couple tied the knot at Lessard Lake near Onoway. The couple invited family and friends out not only for their wedding but for a fun and relaxing camping trip under sunny Alberta skies. Here are some photos from the day.

Amanda slips into her dress in a small lodge near the ceremony site.

Just before the ceremony, the father of the groom delivered the bride some touching words as he welcomed her into the family.

Amanda is escorted to the sunny ceremony by mom and dad.

The newlyweds share their first kiss.

We left to do formals the nearby George Pegg Historic Gardens - a fantastic place to shoot. Below, the bride poses with her sisters.

Amanda and Chris are both entamologist that deal with insects. So insects became a kind of unofficial theme for the reception.

Glass tinkling wasn’t allowed - in lieu, you needed to bring up and insect if you wanted to see the newlyweds kiss. Amanda’s father felt pretty triumphant bringing up an insect strip covered with the little critters. But he was in for a surprise. :)

The couple shared their first dance.

And we were off to the shores of Lessard Lake to take advantage of the sunset.

And then back to the campsite for a final shot near the warm campfire.

Thank you for making me a part of your big day, Amanda and Chris. I loved the creativity and venue! You two are a perfect couple and I wish you all the best for years to come. Cheers!
