Kelly and Clint - Wedding Day

Just a little more than a month ago, Kelly and Clint joined me for an engagement session at the Provincial Legislature. On Saturday, these two exchanged their vows in front of a happy and emotional ensemble of family and friends in Edmonton. The wedding was beautiful and everyone involved felt the joy of the big day. Here are some of the photos.

The ladies were at Kelly’s parents home in south Edmonton on Saturday morning busily getting ready for the day.

The plan was to do formals before the ceremony so Kelly and Clint were destined to see each other before the vows.

Next stop was the University of Alberta’s Arts Building for some formals.

The ceremony was up next at Robertson-Wesley United Church on the edge of downtown Edmonton. Below, dad escorts Kelly down the isle.

And a kiss begins the marriage.

The reception was up next at the UofA Faculty Club. The newlyweds shared their first dance immediately upon entering.

The speeches brought about tears and laughter.

The cake was cut.

And Kelly and Clint danced with their parents.

A couple of shots outside to end the evening.

Kelly and Clint - thank you for making me a part of your big day. It was a pleasure to be there from start to finish photographing you two celebrating your love. Congratulations and cheers!

Sabrina and Matt - Engagement Session

It’s going to be a fun wedding. That’s what I learned when I joined Sabrina and Matt at the Legislature last night for an engagement shoot. Besides being all about the fun and laughs, this couple also openly volunteered to climb a tree in the name of making great photos. There wedding is coming up in January ‘09 and I’m looking very much forward to it (I wonder if they’ll dive into a snow drift??). :) Here are some photos from the shoot.

This shot began innocently enough …

… but erupted into an all out tickle war.

Thanks for an ultra fun shoot, Sabrina and Matt - we’ll see you soon. :) Cheers!

Sheryl and Sang - Wedding Day

If you’ve been watching the blog since late last fall, you might remember an engagement session with Sheryl and Sang. Almost a year has passed since that session and, last Saturday, their big day arrived. Sheryl, Sang, and family came together to put on a fantastic wedding - it was classy and meticulous while still being loads of fun. The bride and groom were their usual sharp selves making it hard to take a bad photo. Here’s some shots from the day.

The day began at a family home in south Edmonton as Sheryl got ready for the day.

A crack team of bridesmaids were on hand to ensure Sheryl got into her dress.

Soon after, the ceremony began at St. Thomas More church.

A kiss begins the marriage.

Formals were taken in a variety of places beginning at the Muttart Conservatory grounds. Check out the groomsman on the far right - crouching tiger, hidden dragon anyone?

Sheryl basks in some attention from the groosmen.

The reception was held at the beautiful Matrix Hotel in downtown Edmonton. Check out this cake - not only is it huge and beautifully detailed but it actually lights up. Two big thumbs up!

The speeches were entertaining and heartfelt.

Sang carefully considers which shoe to hold up.

The first dance started slow…

.. and broke out into a boogey. :)

Sang goes garter diving.

The money dance was next up (Sheryl had Sang cleanly beat).

And then the party started.

I love downtown weddings - all of the ambient light at night makes for some cool photos. Before the end of the evening, Sheryl and Sang stepped outside for a few shots.

Thank you so much for making me a part of your big day, Sheryl and Sang. Your wedding was top notch - enjoyable for everyone including the photographer. I wish you two the very best now and in the future. Cheers!

Leanne and Andrey - Wedding Day

Meet Leanne and Andrey. On Friday I had the chance to shoot this young and easy going couple’s wedding in Sherwood Park. If there’s one thing I took away from the day it’s that Leanne and Andrey are obviously and deeply in love - it was all over their faces throughout their emotional ceremony and carried through into our formal session. Here are some of the photos.

Leanne and her bridesmaids were at the church early to do some last minute decorating and prepare for the day.

The day’s lovely ladies smile for the camera minutes before the ceremony.

Andrey and Leanne seal their nuptials with a kiss.

We shot formals at Woodbridge Farm’s park in Sherwood Park. Below, the wedding party show’s off some leg.

Thank you, Andrey and Leanne, for making me a part of your big day. You two make a great couple and are destined for a long and happy marriage. Cheers!

Amanda and Kyle - Wedding Day

On Saturday this weekend I had the pleasure of shooting Amanda and Kyle’s wedding. Earlier this year, this couple proved to be charismatic and fun during their engagement session at Elk Island Park. Things weren’t any different on Saturday - this couple and their energetic wedding party proved to be a blast to photograph. Lots of smiles, laughs, and good natured fun characterized a great, hot summer wedding day. Here are some of the photos.

The photos began at Amanda’s home in South Edmonton with the ladies putting on some final touches before the ceremony.

Escorted by mom and dad, Amanda makes her entrance at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Amanda and Kyle start their marriage with a kiss.

We shot formals at an acreage near Beaumont. After a few tries, the wedding party executes a perfectly timed jump - gold medal worthy no doubt.

The ladies were gorgeous…

…and a little dangerous.

It was hot .. very hot.

Weddings are traditionally a day of firsts. In this case, the newlyweds share their first bout of violence as husband and wife.

But soon made up.

The reception was held at KC Hall in Beaumont. Below is a ring shot with a cake table adornment.

The couple is close friends with professional Canadian stand-up comic Lars Callieou.

He had everyone howling as he put on a great show for the crowd.

The cake was cut.

And the newlyweds began their first dance with a kiss.

Before the end of the evening, Amanda her sisters took the stage to serenade Kyle.

The dance floor was a dangerous place to be during the bouquet toss.

Amanda and Kyle - thank you so much for making me a part of your big day. You two and your light hearted wedding party made my job an entertaining one. Congratulations and have a great honeymoon. Cheers!
