Andrea and Sheldon - Engagement Session

Meet Andrea and Sheldon. On Sunday evening, this loving and laid back couple joined me for an engagement shoot at Elk Island Park. Sheldon very recently returned from a lengthy posting in Afghanistan with the Canadian Armed Forces and it was easy to see how deeply this couple missed each other. While the landscape at this time of year has turned into it’s wintery tones, this couple proved that some sincere loving emotion combined with a beautiful sunset can make for some fantastic imagery at any time of year. Here are some of the photos.

Thanks for a great shoot, Andrea and Sheldon. You two were a pleasure to work with and I’m very much looking forward to your big day in the new year. Cheers!

Amber and Chris - After Wedding Session

Way back in the fall of 2007, I had the pleasure of doing an engagement session with Amber and Chris. While their wedding was originally scheduled for August this summer, circumstances prevented it from going off and the couple semi-eloped to a beautiful and intimate ceremony in Banff earlier this year. Already happily married, this couple - who resides in Red Deer - came up to Edmonton this weekend for some formal photos in their wedding clothes. Our shoot actually spanned over two days as Saturday evening’s shoot was interupted by some dark and broody fall weather. Fortunately, the skies were alive with sunshine on Sunday as we finished up our shoot at Elk Island Park. Here are some of the photos.

The day began with the ladies getting their hair and makeup done at Pure Elements in Sherwood Park.

Congratulations on your marriage, Amber and Chris - it sounds like it was a lovely occasion. Thanks for a great shoot on the weekend and kudos for persevering through some less than comfortable conditions on Saturday evening and still coming away with some cool photos. :) Cheers!

Meet Liz and Jay. On Saturday, this fun and dynamic couple held a fantastic fall wedding in Edmonton. Warm weather and friends and family in the mood for fun made for a great day. Here are some of the photos.

Next stop was the Muttart Conservatory ground for some formals. Below, the wedding party smiles for the camera.

This was a fun group of ladies.

The reception was held at Reed’s Bazaar in Fort Edmonton Park. When we arrived, Jay found himself in the doghouse out back.

The speech givers for the evening had some serious comedy skills.

A spirited first dance.

The dance floor filled up starting the party.

Thanks for making me a part of the big day, Liz and Jay. You two are so deeply in love and have a great future to look forward to as husband and wife. Congratulations and cheers!

Jessica and Allen - Engagement Session

Meet Jessica and Allen (I don’t know the name of the bison slobbing around on the beach behind them). Like most who opt for a fall engagement session, Jessica and Allen will be getting married next summer. Last night - the first day of October - we headed out to Elk Island Park to shoot under the 27 degree heat. Here are some of the photos.

Thanks for a great shoot, Jessica and Allen. Considering your worry about missing autumn, I bet you didn’t think we’d be worried about sweating during the engagement shoot. :) Looking forward to your big day - cheers!

Meet Nadine and Josh. With their big day coming up next summer, this young and easy going couple wanted a fall engagement shoot. On Tuesday evening, as we headed out for the shoot, the weather certainly didn’t feel like fall. It was a hot and sunny day that rivalled the best days of summer. Here are some of the photos.

Thanks for a super shoot, Nadine and Josh. Looking forward to your big day next year! Cheers!
