Nadine and Josh - Wedding Day

Last fall I had the pleasure of doing an engagement shoot with Nadine and Josh in Edmonton’s downtown area. Fast forward to last Saturday and the couple’s wedding day arrived. The day was full of emotion and fun as these two were married in front of a large group of happy family and friends. While being a little suspect first thing Saturday morning, the weather ended up being great - by the time Nadine was ready the cool, cloudy, and windy morning had magically transformed into a hot summer’s day which suited their outdoor ceremony just fine. Here are some of the photos from the day.

Saturday morning had Nadine and her bridesmaids getting ready at her parent’s home.

The ceremony began early in the afternoon at the Country Lodge - Nadine has her first peak at her waiting groom.

A few ring exchange issues get the couple laughing.

The marriage begins with a kiss.

We headed off to Irene Parlby Park in Edmonton’s river valley for some formals.

The stunning ladies of the day smile for the camera.

The beautiful bride poses for a portrait.

Jummmmmmp!

The jumping wasn’t done (great air time Josh).

We headed back to the country Lodge for the reception.

I have a feeling Josh had a little something to do with the very cool Transformers cake topper.

The speeches were full of emotion and laughter.

I missed the joke but I kind of wish I hadn’t!

The newlyweds and their parents stepped outside for some classicly poses portraiture.

A nervous groom cuts the cake with the bride.

And the couple share their first dance.

Thanks for making me a part of your big day, Nadine and Josh. Your weddings was alot of fun and made a great start to your future together. Congratulations and cheers!

Shelly and Matt - Engagement Session

Meet Shelly and Matt. On Thursday evening, this happy couple joined me at the Legislature in Edmonton for an engagement shoot. The nasty wind that hit Edmonton around supper time yesterday and actually knocked a big chunk off a tree on the south side of the Legislature grounds let off just before we started. We had a fun and productive shoot in preparation for their big day this September. Here are some of the photos.

Thanks for a fun shoot, Shelly and Matt - and sorry again about that can of Pepsi! ;) Looking forward to your wedding in September. Cheers!

Stacey and Andrew - Engagement Session

Meet Stacey and Andrew. Last night we set course for Elk Island Park where, with the help of some beautiful summer weather, we shot some engagement photos. Stacey and Andrew told me a very interesting story about how they met on the night of game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals a few years back when the Oilers were facing Carolina. Had the Oilers won, the circumstances would’ve changed and these two would never have hooked up. As Stacey put it “they lost for us”! I hope you have at least one piece of Oilers paraphenelia present on your wedding day to thank them, you two. :) Here are some photos from the evening.

Thanks for the shoot, Stacey and Andrew - you two were alot of fun to work with. I’m looking forward to your big day in September. Cheers!

Meet Jackie and Joell. There wedding is a little later this summer and tonight I had the pleasure of doing an engagement shoot with them in and around downtown Edmonton. They were laid back and full of smiles as we took some photos at the Muttart, the downtown core, and finally at a friend’s lounge on Jasper Ave. Great weather and great subjects made for a great shoot! Here are some of the photos.

Thanks for a great shoot, Jackie and Joel. You two are absolute naturals in front of the camera and I’m greatly looking forward to your big day! Cheers!

Michelle and Neil - Wedding Day

It was barely a month ago that I met Michelle and Neil for an engagement shoot in the downtown Edmonton area. On Saturday, hot and sunny weather greeted the couple for their wedding day. Happy family and friends enjoyed a touching ceremony followed by some unique events at the reception. Here are some of the photos.

The day began at a family member’s home in west Edmonton where the ladies got ready for the day.

We were soon off to the Woodbend Community Hall at the far southwest tip of Edmonotn for the ceremony. Below, Michelle is escorted by dad to the ceremony.

When Michelle was nine years old, her mother lost a battle with cancer. As such, the couple lit a candle in her honour prior to the ceremony. Later, at the reception, a bouquet was auctioned off in support of cancer research. More than a thousand dollars was raised!

A kiss begins the marriage.

The Muttart was the first stop on our formal trail. The wedding party shows off some sexy below.

A gorgeous trio of ladies smile for the camera.

The beautiful bride poses for a portrait.

The boys make a fashion statement.

Michelle was a fan of some LRT station shots she’d seen in the past on my blog. As such, everyone welcome the chance to get out of the heat and get to work underground.

We headed back to Woodbend for the reception where the couple enjoyed some warm and entertaining speeches.

The couple shared their first dance.

Neil gets a warning from his wife prior to feeding her the cake (and he smartly heeded it).

With a sunset brewing the west, we stepped out for a few photos.

Thanks for making me a part of your wedding day, Michelle and Neil. You two are so obviously and truly in love that I know you have a long and happy marriage ahead. Kudos and great job to you and your guests for the cancer research fundraising. Congratulations and cheers!
